What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is a system of healing from India. In Sanskrit, ‘Ayuh’ translates as life, and ‘veda’ translates as knowledge. More than 5,000 years ago physicians documented how the state of balance and imbalance manifested in the body, mind and spirit, and what could be done to bring the body, mind and spirit back into balance. The timeless information is still relevant today and is the basis of Ayurveda, the science of life.

Diet, lifestyle, pranayama (breathing exercises), yoga, meditation, and herbal remedies are all part of Ayurveda and used to support an individual’s health concerns, whilst recognising that a one-size-fits-all solution is not always suitable.
